How do we know when we are speaking truth rather then over inflating our ego? Can we be humble and still praise ourselves?
These are the questions I have been contemplating.
There seems to be a few lines of division amongst the current spiritual contemporary field. The one of which I am referring to has probably pre-dated my sphere of awareness, nevertheless it is an important topic.
You see,
Both sides promote having confidence in oneself which is important if you want to succeed in life, particularly if you are about to embark on a new venture in your life.
Now this is where the division comes in:
One side emphasizes that we only focus on our “positives” or our “lightness” by continuously raising our confidence via positive affirmations and so forth. The other side however, promotes the more humble approach so as to prevent the ego from becoming over inflated.
Therefore I ask again:
How do we know when we are being truly confident or merely over inflating our ego? Can we be humble and still praise ourselves?
For the answer I would like to hear your feedback, as this seems to be one of those questions that probably doesn’t have a simple black or white answer.
